There are several problems with this image: 1) the bride and groom blend into the background, they don't really stand out; 2) their faces are in shadow, obscuring their beautiful features from being noticed; and 3) there's generally a cloudy look which minimizes the beauty of the gorgeous natural surroundings.

With some light retouching, the photo looks much more vibrant and interesting without seeming overdone. In the image above, both faces are much brighter; the garments are lighter; the colors of the bouquet are more vibrant; and the colors of the beautiful beach have been enhanced to allow for proper contrast.

While the composition of this photograph is quite good, the overall appearance is quite muddy and dull. There's almost no contrast between the key elements as the eye travels from top to bottom or from left to right. As a result, everything blends together and there's no discernible point of visual interest.

Minor enhancements of certain elements can yield stunning results as evidenced in this edited image. Notice the contrast of the sky and water as well as how the buildings really stand out (on both sides). The image pops without looking unrealistic. This photograph looks good enough to hang as wall art!

This dreamy image of a horse frozen in mid-air as it runs through a golden field, is suffering from being underexposed. As a result, its beautiful coat and mane are too dark and overall, the image just doesn't pop. The composition has a lot of potential which can be enhanced by professional photo editing.

With some properly placed edits, the image is now brighter and more uplifting. The highlights of the coat, mane and tail stand out and overall the horse, suspended in air, takes on a more magical appearance. Final touches include color correction of the golden field and the hazy blue sky.

This photo, captured in low light, depicts a subject which isn't properly lit and therefore doesn't stand out against the background.

A low light image can be tricky to edit due to the presence of digital noise but with skilled editing, the proper elements can be enhanced to create a better result.

On its surface, this is a great photo of a pet bulldog wearing a birthday hat. Upon closer inspection, however, his big brown eyes could be more life-like. The client wanted to turn an ordinary pet photo into a festive work of art.

The client wanted a pop-art look for their pet portrait so stylistic enhancements were made to the fur, shadows, etc. Also, notice how this cutie's eyes look so much more life-like. The client plans to order this as a canvas print!
